Isn't it hilarious that we have strong emotional reactions to finding out the gender of our baby because of how we'll DRESS THEM?! That's not criticism - I did the exact same thing when I found out I was having boys! I can just sort of laugh about it now. I lamented then and now how the little girls section is always 3x the size of the little boys section. Girls get rows of shoes. Boys get half a row of sneakers shoved in the corner. The shopping is abysmal and limited - no wonder we're sad! Anyway! I came around to the graphic stuff because I saw how much my boys loved their characters and it made them happy to wear Spidey and Hulk and whatnot. More recently, I find myself buying those Nike and Under Armour sets from TJ Maxx in bulk. It's hilarious and cute how they look like they're always ready for a round of golf.
My baby boy is turning 28 this year, but I had the same reaction. Then I used Target, Gap, Old Navy, Hanna Andersson, and one other: Gymboree.
For quality, Hanna Andersson and Gymboree were the best at that time. The way Hannah Anderson was sized, those clothes often fit for 2 years instead of 1.
Dressing a boy ended up being more fun that I thought, but the reject pile was bigger.
Nailed it!!! Always taking note of how you dress Luke! It’s just always so spot on! We LIVE for your hand me downs 🫶🏻 Now if you have any tricks for getting them to actually WEAR the cool clothes…lol
We love Primary for colorful clothes in neutral cuts and Winter Water Factory for tees in great prints that stand up to a ton of washing and still are good enough to pass down to little brother.
Mom of 2 boys here! Such good gems. My husband is quite preppy so when they were little especially I bought a LOT of Janie and Jack. It’s super cute for boys too! Now they’re a touch older and don’t want to wear pink for instance (I get it) so I’m going with neutrals from Zara and H+M!
lol to not one of these suggestions saying look outside of the boys section! especially for basics. The girls section has way way better graphic shirts.
Also cried when I found out I wasn’t having a girl. I looove dressing my little guy!!!
It’s all about reality vs expectations, right?! Either way, boy or girl, they’re perfect 🫶
Absolutely!!! It doesn’t matter at the end of the day 🫶🏼🫶🏼
same here.... my husband jokes that I had to come to terms with the outfits in order to fully embrace his boyhood lol

YES. The disparity in the selection size is wild. Love that you've leaned into what your boys like though! Ultimately, that's the most fun anyway ❤️

Yes, Alison! So true. Still so fun, just a larger reject pile. Thanks so much for reading ❤️

Lollll Kelly may be too far gone at this point. That guy is on a sports team 24/7 in his mind!!! <3

Yes! Amen to quality hand-me-downs.
Loved and needed this! However, tbh Old Navy has surprised me recently—I’ve scored a few very cute retro striped tees there for my almost-one-year old
Ok I do agree!! They have had a few cute boy things recently!
I literally cried too - the selection hasn’t gotten much better but at least there are some smaller brands ( plus Korean brands) making a difference !
I’m glad I’m not the only one! ❤️

An expert in our midst!!!
And Boy moms are the coolest! I don’t have kids yet, but taking notes bc omg so stylish and CUTE
If you ever have a boy I’ve got you!!
Great ideas for grandparents too!
And, Hanna Anderson holiday themed PJ’s make great gifts.
